A Journey of Rhythm

An arangetram, meaning "ascending the stage" in Tamil, marks years of training and hard work to arrive at a sacred rite of passage in Carnatic music, where a student demonstrates their mastery before an audience.
The mridangam is an ancient Indian double-sided drum originating from South India. It is the primary percussive component of Carnatic music.

Akshay Jayaraman has been learning mridangam since the age of 4, under Sri. Santosh Chandru, disciple of Vid. Sri. T.S. Nandakumar.
